High Croft Guest House - Accessibility Statement
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home-based 4 bedroom Guest House, except people with severe mobility problems. Our premises are unsuitable for anyone with a mobility disability because of gravel surface of the area around the house and the many steps and stairs. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Arrival
We have a tarmac drive which leads to the car park and also a gravel drive which surrounds the house. Guests may park at the front entrance whilst off loading cases etc. There is one step onto the porch and another into the house. The gravel drive is not suitable for wheelchairs or suitcases with wheels. Luggage assistance is available.
The car park is secure and floodlit.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor. All bedrooms are carpeted, all bathrooms have vinyl flooring.
The bedrooms are lockable within and guests may be provided with a front door key. Televisions are remote controlled.
Each bedroom has main lighting controllable from the door and there are bedside lamps on each side of the bed.
There are smoke alarms fitted in all public rooms and bedrooms.
Heating is thermostatically controlled and adjustable in all guest rooms.
Each welcome tray offers a selection of hot beverages and biscuits.
Guest Rooms
The dining room floor is carpeted and on the ground floor. Breakfast is served in the Dining room. Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
The sitting room is carpeted and on the ground floor.
Large print menus and bedroom browsers may be supplied upon request.
A selection of audio CD books is available along with a selection of DVDs.
There are 10 stairs with hand holds to the middle landing and seven stairs up to the first floor with a handrail on the right.
Guide Dogs
We welcome guide dogs and well behaved family dogs by arrangement.
Dietary Issues
We always endeavour to cater for any specific dietary needs providing they are discussed beforehand, in order that we may have adequate supplies. We do cater for vegetarians.
Allergies
We do use nuts in the kitchen.
The duvets and pillows are down; synthetic filling bedding is available on request.
We have a family dog and cat who live in the house.

We have a large enclosed garden (flower borders and lawns) for residents which is available to sit in (chairs and bench available)
Additional Information
Mobile phone reception is generally good.
We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation. If you require more assistance for evacuating please notify us on arrival and we will ensure you are evacuated safely e.g. hearing impairment.
We are a no smoking premises
We supply a tray with coffee and tea; fresh milk on request
There are local shops, a Post Office and numerous pubs within a 20 minute walk from High Croft .
Hours of Operation: High Croft Guest House is our home and is therefore occupied 24 hours. Telephone answered 8 am-10.30 pm
